Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful... ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Isn't it true? How Christmas just casts its magic spell and colors over our world, for such a short time. My goal is to get alot of the hectic Christmas prep done early this year (yes, I know, I say that every year). But, I truly want to save a bit of time just to enjoy and watch, and breathe in the sights and smells of this beautiful Christmas season. Really trying to focus on the birth of our Saviour, the true meaning of this blessed season.

I've captured a number of pictures, mostly from Flickr, for you to view that might help us move into a "bit of magic", "a bit of calm" and a "bit of peace". Thanks to all of those Flickr photographers that allow us to enjoy their art...

Enjoy and blessings to all,
Kitty

  4. Your photos are gorgeous Kitty! And I still have to thank you for your email...*blush*. It is busy here already, so now I have made an important decision, just like you, to do the preparations in time. Every year it is the same over here. First we have our Santa on December the 5th, I love giving presents! Here it is tradition to make a small poem with every present. Santa says things like: you have to clean up your room better. He is educational but funny, if you know what I mean. Usually I make about a 100 small poems...December 12th is my daughters' birthday and then the weekend after that I can finally buy a tree and have a lot of stress putting everything up, usually I am still busy at the morning of the 25th just before the guests arrive! Now this year I have skipped our Santa (sorry Sir) but yours will come on the 25th, so I can start real early decorating. I am still busy with the rooms of the kids. We save everything (I should say I save everything). I have put about 300 happy meals toys in bags for the Good Will store, to give you an idea, why I was too busy for emailing. Wishing you and your family all the best Kitty and hoping that you will enjoy preparations and don't stress. Thanks for your very true messages. Hugs LiLi

  5. Hi Kitty! Such beautiful pictures you've shared! I've been stalking Heather's blog and shoppe ~ I woke up just sick because I thought I'd missed her shop debut as I thought it was yesterday, then when I went to her blog I was excited when I saw it was TODAY, then disappointed that it is at 6pm Eastern today!!! I'm loving the way the two of you always decorate!!

I too want to slow down the pace of the holidays. I refuse to be pushed in the hype of x number of days till Christmas. I want to relish in old memories, think daily of the peaceful bliss of the Holy Night and remember the true reason of this season. Beautiful pictures and sentiment! Lori

  8. Good morning Kitty,
What a beautiful post. I agree with Mr. Peale, during Christmas everything is much more softer and beautiful. I try not to let the hustle and bustle and commercialism of Christmas get in the way. Christmas is not about any of that anyway...it's about celebrating the greatest gift ever...Jesus. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs,
    ♥Ana
